Exit polls in 5 states
As soon as the last voting for five state elections ends in Telangana, exit poll trends have started emerging. According to election pundits, Congress can form government in three states while BJP will be successful in saving its 20 year old stronghold Madhya Pradesh.
Chhattisgarh
Bhupesh Baghel’s government, which has been in power for the last five years, seems to be coming back to power. If exit polls are to be believed, Congress is going to win 50 to 65 seats, which will easily cross the magic figure of majority.
Rajasthan
The Gehlot government seems to be making a comeback once again in Rajasthan, if it is so then it will be contrary to the tradition of the state where governments used to change every 5 years. Here too, Congress seems to be taking a slight lead over BJP as predicted by election pundits.
Telangana
Many allegations of corruption have been leveled against the BRS government that has been in power for the last five years and the trends clearly show that the general public wants change. The change of power in the neighboring state of Karnataka also seems to be having an impact on the people here, which is benefiting the Congress. If exit polls are to be believed, Congress will easily cross the magic figure of majority.
Madhya Pradesh
The Shivraj government, which has been in power for the last 18 years, seems to be making a comeback once again. Last time, many allegations were made against BJP, the party which formed the government by ousting the Congress MLAs, but the Shivraj government seems to be making a comeback with full majority, dismissing all these aspects.
Mizoram
Once again Congress seems to be lagging behind in Mizoram and Mizo National Front is leading. There is no visible impact of Rahul Gandhi’s election campaign, hence a coalition government can be formed here.
