Israel vs Iran:
Seven top rank commanders of Iranian revolutionary guards corp have been killed in a air strike by allegedly Israel air forces on an Iranian embassy complex in Damascus on Monday.
It was the biggest attack on Iran since Trump had ordered assassination of Iranian revolutionary guards corp top commander Qassem soleimani in Baghdad in 2020. Iran had taken revenge. Attacking US military bases in Iraq. There was no more casualties reported from US military. Most of the missiles fired by the Iranian forces were neutralised by the US military, advanced anti missile system. However some rockets had fallen down near military bases resulting minor casualties.
Israel has been attacking Iran and its proxy in Syria, for years to deter and destroy emerging threats to its security and its intensity has been increased since October 7 when Hamas attacked Israel, killing more than 1200 Israels citizen and kidnapp
Monday attack was major escalation in this war since it was direct attack on Iran’s sovereign territory in Syria, as its embassy was attacked by Israel Air Force, where some meeting was going on with IRGC top commanders and other Iranian officials. One of the top commander of IRGC who looks after the affairs of Middle East has also been killed which made Iran angry. Even though Iran is reluctant to enter into a direct military conflict with Israel and USA but in this case he has left with no other choice but to revenge as quoted by Iranian sources.
On the other hand Israel has not claimed responsibility of military strikes on Damascus but has argued that target was Quds forces building. Quds forces are a unit of IRGC responsible for foreign operations. So this was neither consulate nor embassy claimed by Israel defence forces spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari in an interview.
Iran is unlikely to attack on Israel directly as it would cause reciprocal damage to Iran and may drag USA into the war. However Iran has urged USA to stay aside in this conflict with Israel. But analysts say that it would be difficult for US and is likely to engage and align with Israel.
A direct attack on Israel by Iran would be the worst possible scenario for US government to be non aligned in the conflict. It will take the conflict to next intensity level in the Middle East and Israel-Hamas war into a wider regional conflict.
Israel has bombed a lot of places in Syria targeting Iranian proxies building, training camps , weapons shipments which were intended for Hezbollah in Labanon, a strong Iranian proxy but targeting a embassy is itself a major escalation as embassy is considered sovereign territory of that country.
The US is on high alert and actively preparing for a significant attack by Iran and its proxies on Israel and US military facilities across Middle East as soon as within the next week in response to Israeli air strikes on Damascus consulate which killed 7 top commanders of Iranian revolutionary guard corps.
A Israeli government official while addressing the nation asked the people to store basic items like food, medicine, water, cash from ATM and other essential commodities in a view of possible Iranian attack on Israel which may hamper the normal business in the country for a short while.
Military analysts say that Iran is compelled to take revenge as its top military commander have been killed in Israeli air strike on Damascus consulate in Syria. Iranian supreme leader along with country top commanders vowed to take revenge. Israel will pay the heavy price for Damascus attack on Iranian consulate which killed IRGC top commanders they added.
